A library account is optional; every work can be read without one. If you have created an account, you can delete it and all data attached to it yourself, permanently, with a single button.
This page applies to the M.Akif Çakmak Library app published by AYNET and to the site book.aynet.com.tr.
Steps to delete
Open the M.Akif Çakmak Library app, or go to book.aynet.com.tr in your browser.
Tap the person icon (“My account”) in the bar above the shelf.
If you are signed out, enter your email address and then the verification code sent to you; if you are already signed in, go straight to the next step.
Press the “Delete my account and data” button at the bottom of the account window.
Confirm the question “Permanently delete your library account, sessions and passkeys?”. The account is deleted the moment you confirm and you are signed out.
If you cannot sign in
If you no longer have access to your email address, send your deletion request to website@aynet.com.tr, stating the email address the account was opened with. Requests are handled within thirty days and the outcome is reported back to that address.
Data that is deleted
The account record: your name, email address, account identifier and the date the account was created.
All sessions and session cookies; you are signed out on every device at the moment of deletion.
The stored public-key records of your registered passkeys.
Any linked Google or Apple identities.
Any pending email verification codes.
Data that is not deleted because it is not attached to your account
Your shelf order, favourites, reading position, page notes and the books you saved for offline reading are kept in your own browser alone; they are never sent to a server. You remove them by clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app.
View, reading and download counters are not tied to a person. Visitors are told apart by a short digest of the IP address and browser details taken together with a secret salt and the current date; because the date sits inside the digest, that trace changes every night and raw IP addresses are never stored. The records hold no field that could be matched to your account, so there is nothing there to delete.
The server’s standard web access logs rotate daily and are kept for at most fourteen days, after which they are removed automatically.
How long it takes
Deletion from inside the app is immediate and permanent: the account record is removed, no separate backup copy is kept, and it cannot be undone. You may open a new account with the same email address at any time.
